
3M presents the MPro 120 pocket projector that is a follow-up to the MPro110. The portable projector features VGA 640×480 resolution, 12 lumens brightness, LED ligh and up to 4 hours of battery life. It will be available in the UK on 10 September for GBP260.

Along with the a550 and a500, Sony introduces the Alpha a850 full-frame DSLR camera that shares the same 24.6 megapixel sensor and most features of the flagship a900 DSLR camera.
Sony’s a850 features a 24.6-megapixel, 35-mm full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor and dual BIONZ engine for fast image processing. It is able to do high-speed continuous shooting of 24.6 megapixel images at up to three frames per second. The Full Frame DSLR offers the body-integrated SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system that works with all Sony, Minolta and Konica-Minolta compatible lenses.

Also included is the Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) with five levels of user-selectable correction as well as DRO bracketing for enhanced scene analysis and graduation optimization. The a850 has a “ultra-bright” viewfinder with 98% field of view coverage and a 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD display with 921,000 pixel. The camera has also HDMI output. It supports Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo, HX series and CompactFlash media.
Sony Alpha a850 (model DSLR-A850) will be available in September and priced at about $2000 for only the body. The choice of full-frame lenses to complement the a850 model is enhanced with the new SAL2875 28-75mm F2.8 SAM lens. It will be released in November for $800.

Sony introduces the new Alpha a550 and a500 digital SLR cameras to its Alpha DSLR line, both feature Sony’s Exmor CMOS image sensor and BIONZ image processor with color-noise reduction. The 14.2 Megapixel a550 and 12.3 Megapixel a500 both offer ISO sensitivity up to 12800.
Both a550 and a500 is able to shoot up to five frames per second using optical viewfinder and up to four frames per second with Quick Auto Focus Live View. The Alpha a550 is the first DSLR in its class with seven frames per second shooting speed for under $1,000.

Sony’s new Alpha DSLRs provide an in-camera High Dynamic Range (HDR) feature for capturing highlights and shadows, which processes the image within two seconds. They offer Simle Shutter in Live View, SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization and Quick Auto Focus Live View with Face Detection. They a550 has a 3-inch 921,000 pixel Xtra Fine LCD display while the a500 gets a 3-inch 230,000 pixel Clear Photo LCD Plus screen.
Sony Alpha a550 and a500 supports Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo, HX series and SD/SDHC memory cards. The a550 (model DSLR-A550) and a500 (model DSLR-A500), body only, are priced at $950 and $750 respectively. The a550L and a500L that include the camera body and 18-55 kit lens, cost $1050 and $850 respectively.

Sharp introduces in Japan the new NetWalker line of smartbook and the first model being introduced is the PC-Z1 that runs Ubuntu. The clamshell style NetWalker PC-Z1 has a 5-inch touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard.
Sharp’s PC-Z1 packs an ARM Cortex-A8-based Freescale i.MX515 800MHz processor, 512MB of memory, 4GB flash memory and a microSDHC card slot. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g wireless connectivity. In addition to the QWERTY keyboard, above that you can find a optical track point and two mouse buttons.
The NetWalker PC-Z1 runs Ubuntu 9.04 ARM edition Linux OS. The smartbook has integrated battery that offers up to 10 hours of use. White and Black version will be released on 25 September and the Red comes in late October.
