Along with the PLY, KDDI iida brings also the PRISMOID, a clamshell phone that comes in green, black and white. The PRISMOID is designed by Naoto Fukasawa, who has created the neon, INFOBAR and INFOBAR 2.
It may look like an ordinary flip phone but you can find a sub display on the side of the phone that will show you time and date. The PRISMOID has a 2.7-inch IPS LCD display and 1.97 Megapixel camera, and a microSD/SDHC card slot. It measures 49×101×16.8mm and weighs 102g.
What PRISMOID promises is to embody just such a sensation. It is a silhouette that causes you to feel the easy-to-grasp, the new, and nostalgia, all at the same time, through chamfers poised around the periphery of the design. There is a unique beauty produced by the combination of horizontal planes and diagonal planes. The value C4.8, which indicates the dimensions of the diagonal surface that determines such a configuration, boldly merges with the horizontal plane portion, making the charm of PRISMOID even more distinct, transcending the merely simple.

KDDI has just added two new phones to its iida line, the PLY and the PRISMOID. The PLY, designed by Hideo Kambara, is a slider phone that is made to look like a file folder. PLY is a mobile phone born of the fresh idea of multiple layering, one layer stacked upon another. You can find “Tab-Key” on each layer.
The iida PLY features a 3-inch color display, a 3 Megapixel camera with auto focus, face detection, a microSD/SDHC card slot and USB connection. The PLY measures 102×53×14.5mm and weighs 127g.
Of the five layers that compose the body of this mobile phone, each layer is a different color, which, combined with an exquisite balance, achieves a single distinctive hue. The secret to this effect is contained in the plywood, which is composed of thin layers of wood glued together, and in the combination of the strength of the wood and the lateral beauty of the layering.

Taiwan portable DVB-T TV maker , Asuka shows at the IFA 2009 its SK700 7-inch DVB-T digital TV/media player. The SK700 features a 7-inch 800×480 touchscreen LCD display, built-in DVB-T TV tuner, FM with RDS tuner and 2GB or 4GB internal memory.
Asuka’s SK700 is able to do real-time TV recording to internal memory or SD cards. It supports playback of movie, music and image files. The device comes with built-in stereo speakers and a SD/MMC card slot for up to 32GB cards.

As you may know, Korean firm iRiver is planning an e-book reader named the Story. Now, the Story has been pictured in a Berlin hotel, accorindg to German site heise.de. As you can see in the above picture, the Story acutally looks a bit like the Amazon Kindle 2.
iRiver Story features a 6-inch e-ink display, a QWERTY keyboard, 2GB internal memory and a SD card. iRiver Story supports TXT, PDF, EPUB, as well as DOC, XLS, PPT Office files. DRM content in PDF and EPUB formats are also supported. There is also a Comic Viewer that also you to view JPG, BMP, GIF images in a ZIP file. The Story plays MP3, WMA and OGG music files.
