Pioneer brings us two iPhone speaker systems, the XW-NAS3 and XW-NAS5. Both models are 2.1-channel Full-range system with a downfiring subwoofer. They can charge and play your as well as and iPod touch players.

Pioneer’s speakers offer 60W output. The XW-NAS5 adds the FM tuner and Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) to enhance the sound of compressed music files and Auto Level Control (ALC) to monitor the volume level from track to tack. Both devices are -ready and users can get the optional BT-100 accessory to add connectivity.

The Pioneer XW-NAS3 is available in White and the Pioneer XW-NAS5 comes in Black and Red. They will be available later this year.

JVC has Six New D-ILA Home Theater Projectors

JVC updates its D-ILA range by introducing six new home theater projectors, all offering high native contrast ratio. The new models include the DLA-RS35, DLA-RS25 and DLA-RS15 to be marketed by JVC’s professional products group, and the DLA-HD990, DLA-HD950 and DLA-HD550, available through JVC’s consumer electronics group.

All six new D-ILA projectors utilizes JVC’s 0.7-inch full HD D-ILA devices and the company’s optical engine. They feature the double-speed 120Hz Clear Motion Drive for reducing motion blurring and the new screen adjustment mode to optimize the projector for different screen types.

The DLA-RS35 and DLA-HD990 both provide a native contrast ratio of 70,000:1, which is the highest yet of any D-ILA projector. The DLA-RS25 and DLA-HD950 have 50,000:1, DLA-HD550 has 30,000:1 and DLA-RS15 offers 32,000:1. The top four models – DLA-RS35, DLA-HD990, DLA-RS25 and DLA-HD950 – are all THX Certified. Common Features:

  • Three JVC-developed D-ILA devices (red, green, blue) for a naturally rich, flicker-free picture;
  • HQV Reon-VX processor developed by Silicon Optix to ensure excellent image reproduction with precision I/P conversion and scaling;
  • A high-performance 1.4 – 2.8:1 zoom lens with motorized focus features a large diameter, all-glass lens system with 16 elements in 17 groups that includes an ED lens to project a full HD image with exceptional depth and minimal chromatic aberration;
  • Manual adjustment of the gamma curve via an on-screen display, allowing the viewer to adjust projector luminance levels by either increasing contrast in scenes that are too dark or dimming washed-out scenes to ensure precise brightness levels suited to individual preferences or viewing conditions. Up to three settings can be adjusted and stored for use;
  • Flexible set-up with a ±80 percent vertical and ±34 percent horizontal motorized lens shift function that allows the projected picture to be moved horizontally or vertically via the remote control.
  • Other features include an external 12-volt trigger (not available on the DLA-HD550) that can be used to automatically raise and lower a screen or draw curtains, or it can be linked to engaging the V-Stretch mode and move an optional anamorphic wide screen lens system into place. Also, an automatic lens cover opens and closes with power on/off.
  • All six projectors comply with HDMI version 1.3 (Deep Color/CEC) specifications, which provide for billions of colors and reproduce subtler shades of grey, and CEC compatibility for system control.

The set-up of these receivers are made simple by the Digital Cinema Auto-Calibration. ’s new receivers are equipped with Faroudja DCDi Cinema IC chip (the STR-DA5500ES gets two chips) for 1080p upscaling and upconversion for legacy formats.

’s STR-DA5500ES offers also Ethernet connectivity for accessing networked devices or music services. It is priced at $1999.99. The STR-DA3500ES, on the other hand, costs $999.

VIA eNote Ultra Portable Notebook with WiMAX

VIA announced its eNote Turnkey Solution that is a thin and light notebook. The 11.6-inch notebook is equipped with Sequans Communications’ Mobile WiMAX chip.

The VIA eNote is boosted by a 1.3GHz VIA Nano processor, 2GB of DDR2 memory, VIA VX800 digital media IGP chipset, and the VIA Chrome9 DirectX 9.0 3D graphics chip. The slim-line notebook features also acceleration for MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9, VC1 and DiVX formats, a VMR capable HD processor and 8-channel HD audio.

The eNote is equipped with two modules, one for , and optional and one for WiMAX, HSDPA and EVDO/WCDMA connection. The device gets a 11.6-inch LCD,  a 2 Megapixel webcam, a 4-in-1 card reader and three 2.0 ports. It can run Vista/XP and Linux.

AKG Perception 120 USB Microphone

AKG, Harman Kardon’s sister company, introduces the Perception 120 microphone, which is the company’s first microphone. The Perception 120 is a real plug-n-play device that does not require any installation or drivers.

Based on the original Perception 120, this version features the same two-third-inch condenser capsule with a low-mass diaphragm delivering accurate sonic details an integrated pop filter that avoids plosives, a switchable bass cut filter, and an attenuation switch. It is also the only microphone to have integrated Analogue-to-Digital Converter (24-bit, 128x oversampling) for convincing sound quality and low noise.

The plug-n-play Perception 120 allows users to do podcasts, voiceovers, and studio-quality rehearsal-recordings quickly and easily. It works with XP/Vista, the new 7 and OS X.
