Verizon Wireless launches the HTC Touch Pro2 QWERTY smartphone. The phone features a slide-out QWERTY keypad. It has a 3.6-inch 480×800 tilting touchscreen display, a 3.2 Megapixel auto focus camera, touch-sensitive zoom bar, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1.
The HTC Touch Pro2 is a dual mode phone supporting both GSM/EDGE/WCDMA/HSPA and CDMA EVDO networks. It is boosted by Qualcomm MSM 7600A 528 MHz processor, 512MB ROM and 288MB RAM. The handset is available for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

Kwikset introduces the SmartCode withh Home Connect technology, a remote access control system. Basically, the SmartCode is a lock that can be wirelessly controlled. It has a motorized deadbolt, so homeowners can lock or unlock doors via remote control or cellphone.
There is also a keypad which means you don’t even need to use a key. The SmartCode even allows users to arm the home security system when the door is locked and disarm the system when the door is unlocked. It opeates on four AA batteries.

Chinese firm SPARK launches in China the VTube egg-shaped HD media player. The device has room for 2.5-inch hard drive and a SD/MS/MMC memory card slot. It supports WiFi connectivity as well as Ethernet LAN. It supports playback of most video files, including DivX, XviD, MPEG2.
The VTuber offers HDMI video output with up to 1080i resolution and of course Composite and Component. A front USB port is available for connecting external storage device. It is priced at 899 Chinese Yuan.
