
HP presents the new Pavilion dv8-1000 entertainment notebook PC in the UK. The Windows 7-packing notebook is boosted by Intel’s Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM (Max 8GB) and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M graphisc card. It packs a 640GB 7200RPM hard drive and a Blu-ray/DVD combo drive with Lightscribe.
HP’s Pavilion dv8-1000 comes with a 18.4-inch 1080p Full HD LCD display. It supports WiFi 802.11a/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity. You can expect a 5-in-1 card reader, fingerprint reader, built-in webcam, Altec Lansing speakers with integrated subwoofer and with Dolby Home Theater, a FireWire port, an ExpressCard/54 slot, integrated numeric keypad and a HP Mobile ScrollSmart remote control
The HP Pavilion dv8-1000 is priced at GBP1300.

JVC launches in the US the new PICSIO GC-FM1 pocket HD video camcorder that is priced at $199.95. The compact PICSIO camcorder features a 8 Megapixel CMOS image sensor, 4x digital zoom, digital image stabilizer, a 2-inch LCD display and a SD/SDHC card slot.

JVC PICSIO GC-FM1 can record 1440×1080p HD video at 30fps and 720p HD video at 60fps in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, as MOV file. It has a mini HDMI and AV video outputs and a USB port. The stylish camcorder is available in Black Ice, Blue Steel and Purple Passion colors.

CEIVA launches the new Pro 80 digital photo frame with WiFi connectivity. The frame gets a 8-inch 640×480 LCD display and a memory card slot supporting CF, Memory Stick, SD, MMC, xD, miniSD cards. Satsports announced the Satsports GPS, the world’s “first truly multi-sport all weather GPS” that does true real time interactive navigation for skiing, snowboarding, golfing, running, cycling and automotive enthusiasts.
The Satsports GPS device is boosted by a 400MHz Samsung 2440A processor and runs Windows CE 5.0 OS. It has a SiRF Star III GPS receiver and a 2.7-inch LCD display. There are also a 1W speaker and a microSD card slot. The US$490 multi-sport GPS is pre-loaded with following navigation applications:
- Satski – GPS application for skiers and snowboarders
- Pocket Caddy – GPS application for golfers
- Satsports Log – GPS application for runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, runners, walkers and hikers

Mitsubishi launches in Japan the LVP-HC3800 1080p projector. Based on DLP display technology, the LVP-HC3800 offers 1920×1080 Full HD resolution with 3000:1 contrast ratio and 1200 lumens brightness.
Mitsubishi LVP-HC3800 gets a long-life 230W lamp and a 1.5x zoom lens. The projector has one HDMI port, D-sub, RCA and S-video inputs. It will be available in November for 198,000 Yen.
