Huawei introduces in Hong Kong its new E583C mobile WiFi hotspot. Like the similar MiFi devices, the E583C converts 3.5G HSPA mobile signal into WiFi offering WiFi hotspots for WiFi-enabled devices.
Huawei’s E583C is capable of handling simultaneous internet access to five WiFi devices and to a sixth device when it is connected via a USB cable. The device supports 3.5G HSPA up to 5.76Mbps (uplink) and 7.2Mbps (downlink). It comes with a 1-inch color OLED display and a microSD card slot supporing up to 32GB card.

Also announced is the Huawei E173u USB mobile broadband modem that supports HSPA network and offers microSD card slot. Huawei E583C and E173u are priced at HK$1380 and HK$498 respectively.

Stealth introduces another Little PC, the LPC-100 which is the company’s smallest full featured mini PC, measuring 102mm x 155mm x 37mm. The ultra small LPC-100 is powered by Intel Celeron dual core T3100 processor or optional Core 2 Duo P8400 or T9400, 2GB of RAM (max 4GB), integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics and a built-in 2.5-inch mobile hard drive with up to 500GB.

The LPC-100 has built-in Gigabit LAN port, integrated HD audio and DVI output. It is housed in a low profile rugged aluminum chassis. SSD drive is available as an option. This Little PC uses 12VDC power input making it ideal for mobile applications.
The Stealth LPC-100 starts at $995.

Verizon launches the Samsung Intensity II SCH-U460 with one-touch social networking access and QWERTY keyboard. As the follow-up to the Intensity, the new model has a similar design as the predecessor, featuring external numeric keypad and horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The Intensity II comes with a 2.2-inch 240×320 LCD screen, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with night vision, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. It includes Social Beat application for easy access to social networking sites such as facebook, twitter, MySpace; VZ Navigator for turn by turn navigation and support for Verizon’s services.
For customers interested in calculating their own carbon footprints, the Intensity II offers an eco-calculator to track car fuel mileage, efficiency and estimated amount of carbon dioxide emitted. The phone’s battery cover made from 35 percent post-consumer materials, which is recycled plastic extracted from water bottles or other recycled polycarbonate materials.
The Samsung Intensity II comes in deep gray and metallic blue. It is available for $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract.

After Amazon introduced the new improved, cheaper Kindle, a company called Copia announced that it is going to release a 5-inch e-book reader called the Ocean Reader with a price of $99.

No details are available yet, but it is said that the Ocean Reader will have a 5-inch color screen. Other e-readers offered by Copia include the 6-inch Ocean6, 9-inch Ocean9, 3G-capable Ocean9 3G, 6-inch Tidal, Tidal Touch and Tidal 3G.
