I primarily trade 3 targets because it fits my personality pretty well.

Target 1 is a quick winner, let’s say 6 ticks on CL. If the trade has trouble reaching target 1, then it’s a red flag for me to look to exit the position immediately and try to minimize losses and then look to re-enter again later.

Target 2 is set based on price action so it varies a lot depending on the day and what price is doing, but I think a good average is probably around 18 ticks. I set it by looking “to the left” on my chart. Where is price likely to run into a possible problem? Target this area to get out.

Target 3 is also based on price action. It is beyond target 2. The thinking is, ok, if we didn’t encounter a problem at target 2’s level then price is actually likely to run further. I again set it based on “looking to the left”, where is the next major area of support or resistance? I would say a good average for target 3 is probably around 50 ticks.

My maximum stop is 24 ticks. Usually the stop is a bit less, but again it always depends on price action. Let’s use worst case scenario. 3 lots @ 24 ticks = 72 ticks of risk. Using my averages above, if my targets are hit I get 6+18+50 which is 74 ticks. So let’s just call it 1:1 risk to reward after commission and a tick of slippage.

Now, my stops are rarely full stops. Usually, like I said above, if price doesn’t “pop” up to that first target almost immediately, I look to get out of the trade with a small loss usually less than 6 ticks. I will re-enter the same trade later if it still looks good. Sometimes I do get trapped and take a full stop, usually what happens is my first target is hit, but then price runs back down against me. I set my stop to the point where I would be “wrong” about the trade. If I were to get out in this scenario — target 1 was hit, so it had some momentum — but target 2 and 3 were not hit, and price is moved against me — if I were to exit here before a ‘full stop’ then I would be doing a disservice to myself, because I would look at the signal and say “this signal is still fine, I should be in this trade”. Sometimes I do this well, sometimes I make a mistake and get out when I shouldn’t only to watch the trade not hit my stop and then turn around and run to targets. I’m not perfect 

Now also target 3 is not often hit. Let’s say I trade five days a week. Target 3 is hit 3 out of 5 days probably. It is those days where usually I can be done for the day in that one single trade when target 1, 2 and 3 were all hit. I set myself up for this on purpose. That is the sole reason target 3 exists for me. CL often moves this much in a move, and when it does, I want to be able to have the opportunity to capture that move and then be done for the day. I realize only a handful of these trades come each week, but when they come I am usually in the trade.

Trading is about probabilities, right? But it’s so much more. It’s also a constant battle with yourself. Deep down. Your desires, your demons. Every trade you put on is a calculated risk. To me, I find that I perform better by reducing the exposure. I carry a pretty good sized risk per-trade, but I do not trade often. Maybe 1-3 times a day. If I have needed to put on five or six trades in a day, usually I am having a bad day.

Samsung announced its new SH-B123 Blu-ray disc Combo drive that reads BD-ROM at the world’s fastest speed of up to 12X. As a combo drive, the drive also does DVD recording. It burns DVD+/-R at 16x DVD+/-R DL at 8x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD-RAM at 12x and reads BD-R/RE/DL at 8x, CD-ROM at 48x, CD-R/RW at 40X.

The Samsung SH-B123 utilizes two lenses and a two laser diode structure to offer high reliability in BD play performance. It features SACT (Spherical Abberation Compensation Technology) to improve the quality of the read function on BD drives if the protective layer does not have a uniform thickness and PSCT (Precision Step Control Technology) to optimize position control for the optical pick-up feature that requires small track pitch of BD drives. It also gets the Aerodynamic Frame Design for low acoustic noise and it operates at a low-power consumption level that averages 25 percent lower power compared to comparable drives in the market.

Vogel’s introduces at the E3 Expo 2010 the TwistDock for Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) gaming system designed to keeps controllers and gaming area neat and organized. The TwistDock works with both PS3 original and PS3 Slim models and keeps controllers organized at their fingertips and always charged.

The TwistDock offers two USB charging ports and users can add the optional USB hub for four addition USB ports for connecting more peripherals. The Vogels TwistDock for PS3 will be released in Q4 2010.

More details of Samsung’s upcoming tablet device have been revealed by Vietnam site tinhte.vn. According to the source, the tablet will be called Galaxy Tape, instead of Galaxy Tab. It will be powered by an 1.2GHz A8 processor and packs 16GB internal memory, a 7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen and a microSD/SDHC card slot.

The Galaxy Tape will probably run Android 2.2. It has a 4000mAh battery.

According to Digitimes, Toshiba will announced later a dual-screen notebook codenamed GuideBook that has two 7-inch displays. No details of the device are mentioned but I would expect a tablet or an e-book reader from Toshiba.

Samsung’s UK site shows another smartphone, the Galaxy Apollo, alongside the Android-based Galaxy S and the Bada-based Samsung Wave. The new Apollo is also running Android OS and is probably the world version of the Korea-only SHW-M100S.

We can expect the Galaxy Apollo to get a 800MHz processor, a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. It will also support DivX playback.

Panasonic announced three new large format full HD 3D plasma displays, the flagship TH-152UX1 and TH-103VX200U, TH-85VX200U.

First of all, the Panasonic TH-152UX1 is a 152-inch plasma display with 4K x 2K (4096 x 2160) resolution Full HD 3D resolution. It is equivalent to nine 50-inch screens. The TH-103VX200U and TH-85VX200U are the 3D version of Panasonic’s 103-inch and 85-inch plasma displays.

These Full HD 3D plasmas feature Panasonic’s 3D ultra high-speed drive technology and new motion prediction technology eliminate crosstalk (ghosting) between left and right images to produce super fine crisp images. They have up to 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and include the 30-bit Color Processing Engine to provide super-accurate color reproduction.

The Panasonic TH-152UX1 will be released in early 2011 while the TH-103VX200U, TH-85VX200U will be available in December 2010 for $65,000 and $45,000, respectively.

Taiwan company Springteq has developed the WeGo heads up display (HUD) that does also GPS navigation. Basically, the WeGo is a GPS navigator that projects virtual images to showing the directions.

The WeGo is able to deliver 4.5-inch 400×240 images with 500:1 contrast ratio and 13,000cd/m2 brightness. It has built-in light sensor for auto brightness adjustment. The WeGo includes a virtual image projector and a remote control that is to attachable to the steering wheel.

Springteq will also offer the WeGo mini that only offer 3.5-inch virtual image. Both model of them are powered by Samsung’s 400MHz CPU, 64MB RAM and run Windows CE. They have 2GB internal storage and supports SD/SDHC cards.
